Tight Hamstrings Lower Back Pain

Tight Hamstrings? Here’s What To Do

Back pain and tight hamstrings are two particularly common problems that get in the way of exercise.

Yet, you rely on your daily exercise routine to keep your weight down, your body toned, and your health in check.

When these problems develop, understanding connections between common health problems and pain is important.

Such as the connection between bloating and back pain, and knowing how to deal with the problems can help you find relief and get back to enjoying your exercise sessions.

What Are The Hamstrings?

Hamstrings is quite a common term used, but not everyone truly understands which specific muscles the term really refers to.

There is no single muscle in the body that is known as a hamstring, but, instead, a group of muscles that are collectively referred to in this manner.

When someone refers to “the hamstrings,” they are actually talking about a group of different muscles that are located at the back side of the upper legs.

The term is not only used to describe these muscles but also collectively include the tendons that are part of the muscle groups in the region.

The main muscles that are part of the hamstrings include:

  • Semitendinosus
  • Semimembranosus
  • Biceps femoris

These muscles play numerous roles in both running and walking, which is why they are so important – and why problems with tightness affecting these muscles can affect your physical abilities.

They are responsible for ensuring the knee joints can flex, and help the thigh extended toward the back of your body.

Ultimately, the hamstring muscles are crucial for allowing the legs to move effectively; thus resulting in a walking or running motion.

Who Is Affected By Hamstring Tightness?

In a recent study, 107 students were analyzed to assist scientists in determining the prevalence of tight hamstring muscles among the young adult population.

The study also looked at how tight hamstrings were connected to lower back pain.

After a questionnaire was completed, the study concluded that 40.19% of the students had tight hamstring muscles.

Additionally, 10,3% of the students also had problems with lower back pain.

The students who experienced tightness in their hamstring muscles were more likely to suffer from lower back pain.

In another study by two scientists, college students between the ages of 18 and 25 were surveyed to determine the prevalence of muscle tightness in the hamstrings among this population.

The study also focused on finding how tight hamstrings affected the overall performance of the students.

Students generally had healthy BMIs, with the mean BMI of the male students being 23.9 and among female students, the mean BMI was 20.9.

Up to 96% of the participants had experienced tight hamstrings at a recent time, with a large number of students complaining about tightness in their right extremities.

Why Do You Have Tight Hamstrings?

There are various reasons why you may experience tight hamstrings.

These symptoms may be acute and only last for a few days, return frequently, or be chronic; causing you to experience tight hamstring muscles for a longer duration of time.

One of the most common reasons for hamstring muscles to become tight and painful is the failure to properly warm up before you participate in a session of physical activity.

When you do not warm up prior to exercising, your hamstrings may become tight, and you also become at a higher risk of injuries to your hamstrings and the muscles in the close regions.

Nerve entrapment is another common reason why many people tend to suffer from tight hamstrings, which leads to a condition known as protective tension.

This happens when the nerves in the area of the hamstring are compressed.

Movements in the area would then lead to an excessive stretching sensation and cause you to experience a tightness in the region.

It is relatively easy to determine if you might have nerve entrapment that is causing your hamstring muscles to be so tight.

Simply stand up straight – with your feet apart at shoulder-width.

Bend forward and then use your hands to touch the ground beneath you.

If you are not able to easily reach and touch the ground, then there is a chance that you might have nerve entrapment.

If you find that you feel a stretch that is mainly located at the back of your knees, or even in the muscles located in your calves, then the likeliness that you have nerve entrapment is even higher.

There is another cause that is rarer, but still something that should be taken into consideration – and this is an injury to your lumbar disc.

When your lumbar disc has been damaged, it may not only cause you to experience tightness in this area of your body, but the tightness may also be accompanied by pain symptoms.

A lumbar disc injury tends to cause pain in the hamstring area that gets worse after being still for a long period of time, such as when you get up in the morning after sleeping through the night.

Sitting may also be painful, and you might experience a tingling sensation in your leg at certain times.

You may also find that the pain in your hamstrings tend to become sharper and more intense when you get up after you have been sitting down for a while.

The Connection Between Tight Hamstrings And Back Pain

Multiple studies have confirmed that there is a definite relationship between tight hamstring muscles and pain in the back, with the lower back area to be a particularly common region affected.

It is, however, important that we consider how these two discomforting and painful problems are connected.

While lower back pain may not necessarily cause your hamstring muscle to become tight and sore, there is an opposite connection that has been confirmed by scientific studies.

When the muscles that make up the hamstrings become tight, excessive pressure and stress are, in turn, being placed on the lower back area.

This can cause symptoms to start developing in the lower back, leading to stiffness, pain, and excessive discomfort.

It should be noted that when lower back pain already exists when your hamstring muscles become tight, it may cause the lower back symptoms to become aggravated.

The pain may become worse, and it might cause you to experience some level of disability when you try to get up after you’ve slept, and in cases where you practice certain types of physical activities, such as a squat.

There have also been cases where people have not experienced lower back pain prior to the development of tight hamstring muscles.

In such cases, the hamstring tightness causes pressure to the lower back and leads to the development of back pain.

Furthermore, in cases where you have suffered a lumbar disc injury, this may also be a particular cause for the development of your back pain.

While this type of injury may cause you to experience tightness in the three muscles that make up your hamstrings muscle group, the injury usually tends to affect the lower region of the back as well.

Stress is placed on the region, which leads to inflammation and pain, as well as tenderness.

Many people may experience sudden pain signals in their back, along with hamstring tightness, when they have an injury to a lumbar disc.

What You Can Do About Your Tight Hamstrings

Even though tight hamstring muscles can be very uncomfortable and even become painful, especially when coupled with lower back pain, there are many strategies that you can utilize to help reduce the severity of these symptoms.

Medication can be used to help lower inflammation and to block pain signals.

Exercises are available to help loosen the muscles and strengthen them at the same time.

Additionally, there are supplements that you can take advantage of to help you experience relief of pain and inflammation.

Medication

There are different types of pharmaceutical drugs that may be provided to help relax your muscles and to reduce inflammation in your body.

Many of these drugs can bring about effective results and help you get back to life without a constant feeling of tightness in your hamstrings or pain in your lower back region.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are very popular.

These include Naproxen, Celecoxib, Aspirin, and Ibuprofen.

They help to alleviate existing inflammation in your body.

There is a lot of different muscle relaxer medications that are used for back pain and hamstring tightness.

These may include Tizanidine, Chlorzoxazone, Cyclobenzaprine, Carisoprodol, and Methocarbamol.

The specific option prescribed depends on the location of the muscle tightness and soreness, as well as the severity.

Exercises

Exercise can also aid in improving symptoms of tight hamstrings.

It may also be useful when this muscle tightness is accompanied by lower back pain.

Yoga is a particularly popular physical activity for these symptoms, with the downward dog and the extended triangle pose being some of the most recommended yoga asanas.

Specific hamstring stretches may also be helpful, which should be performed when your hamstrings are tight, as well as before physical activity as part of your warm-up routine.

Standing and seating hamstring stretches can be combined for more effective results.

Supplements

Lastly, you may also want to consider taking a daily supplement to help alleviate the inflammation that you are experiencing in your hamstrings, as well as your lower back.

There are many supplements out there that can provide you with effective results.

I personally found the Science Natural Turmeric with BioPerine supplement to the best one out of all that I tested.

This supplement contains a 1,300mg dose of high-quality organic turmeric extracts per dose, along with 10mg of BioPerine.

Turmeric is a popular spice that is used in curries and other Indian dishes and has many health benefits – with the anti-inflammatory effects being particularly potent.

The spice is also rich in the following nutrients:

  • Calcium
  • Fiber
  • Manganese
  • Chromium
  • Potassium
  • Vitamin K
  • Vitamin B6
  • Copper

Copper, potassium, calcium, and many of these nutrients will further help to improve muscle and bone function, while also targeting the inflammation that may be causing you to experience tightness in your muscles.

The supplement is very easy to take – you simply take two tablets once per day with a meal.

Be sure to take it with a full glass of water and allow approximately two weeks for the effects to start kicking in.

Conclusion

When your hamstrings feel tight, you may experience discomfort and a significant adverse alteration in your physical performance and abilities.

Muscle soreness may improve, especially with physical activity, and athletic performance can be drastically reduced.

When hamstring muscles become tight, it also increases the likeliness of back pain, leading to further disability and discomfort.

Fortunately, there are exercises, medication, and even supplements that you can use to reduce the severity of these symptoms and to help you get back out there without muscle tightness or pain getting in your way.

Vitamins For Joint Pain In Knees

Vitamins for Joint Pain in Knees

Your knees do so much for you. They allow you to bend and stretch as you reach for things on shelves. You can squat down on the ground and look for an item at the lowermost part of the grocery store shelf.

You can pedal a bicycle or go for a run with ease, all thanks to your knees. And perhaps the best use of a knee is to provide a place for a beloved child or grandchild to take a seat and read a story or watch a movie.

Our knees are very important, so we must learn how to take great care of them. Join us as we review the best vitamins for joint pain in knees.

Many of us take a multivitamin each day to make sure we are getting the right amounts of essential vitamins and minerals.

Although it is best that you get these vitamins and minerals from your food, supplements can help you get in whatever you missed that day if your meals fell short of any vital nutrients.

What Causes Joint Pain?

Inflammation causes it. It can be a good thing when it comes to injury, toxins or infections, as this is your body’s way of fighting back and making you feel better.

The immune system in your body floods the affected area with white blood cells, and you see visible swelling and redness in whatever area the injury happened.

Sometimes, however, your body sees common ailments like stress as an invader and then attacks it. The inflammation becomes chronic.

The immune system then breaks down your healthy tissues, and this leads to obesity, cancer and heart disease.

Fish Oil

Fish oil is an omega-3 fatty acid that you can take in a pill form. It is often associated with a healthy heart and glowing, radiant skin.

It also plays an important role in keeping your joints healthy. The fatty acids within it help prevent certain enzymes from causing damage to the joints and is known to reduce inflammation.

If you have knee pain or rheumatoid arthritis, this is a particularly good supplement to take. You can also get omega-3 fatty acids from nuts, seeds, fish, and avocados. There is an option for everybody, even if you are vegetarian or vegan.

Calcium

This is a nutrient closely tied to bone and joint health. It is the nutrient that is associated with forming your bones and teeth and keeping them strong.

Calcium pill can be great for reducing joint inflammation and pain, especially in the knee joints.

You can also consume dark leafy greens like spinach, eat yogurt and enjoy broccoli to get your calcium up to par. Generally speaking, women are more likely than men to require a calcium supplement.

Vitamin D

People with low levels of vitamin D tend to suffer more from join pain on a more frequent basis, says one study. Vitamin D also assists in how the body absorbs calcium.

By taking this vitamin, you can help your bones and joints be strong and stay that way. You can also take a vitamin that contains calcium and vitamin D. You can also go into the sun for vitamin D or drink fortified milk.

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a lesser-known nutrient that may be helpful to those suffering from joint pain. This one is recommended for knee joints, as it helps to rebuild bone and prevent wearing down of the cartilage. Glucosamine may also help with inflammation that often comes with joint pain.

This is an ideal supplement for older adults with osteoarthritis, as levels of glucosamine tend to decline as people get older. It might take several months before you see an improvement in your joint conditions after you start taking a supplement like this.

Chondroitin

This supplement is often used along with glucosamine in order to prevent joint pain and rebuild the cartilage of the knee.

These two nutrients go hand in hand and are found in the same supplements. Chondroitin is sometimes recommended to those with osteoarthritis because it has been shown to slow the progression of the ailment.

Foods That Help Joint Pain

Foods that Help Joint Pain

If you are suffering from joint pain, you may wish to consider evaluating your diet. What you eat has an impact on your joint pain and making the right food choices may help with sudden joint pain causes.

By learning how it starts, you can prevent it and be on your way to better management of joint pain.

Many of you may already be taking supplements and medicines from your doctor or over the counter to manage your pain and relieve stiffness and inflammation.

However, there are studies that show what you eat, including certain spices, foods, and supplements can help you in your quest for relief.

Upon speaking with a registered dietician, researchers at the Cleveland Clinic were able to determine what healthy foods were best for easing joint pain.

Idea for Relief: The Mediterranean Diet

Following a balanced diet with wholesome foods has many benefits, like greater energy, better digestion, and an overall feeling of good health and a strong body.

Following the Mediterranean diet, for example, is a great way to feel good and relieve joint pain. Reason being is that the health benefits of this diet correlate with NSAIDS, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

When you follow this diet, you will consume low-glycemic fruits, veggies and legumes, and many unsaturated fats. Olive oil is especially popular.

You will also enjoy a modest serving of alcohol mostly in the form of wine, high levels of fish, and low amounts of dairy and red meats.

A diet such as this consisting of real, wholesome foods is important as a whole-food, plant-based diet led to reduction of pain and greater functionality among adult patients who were suffering from osteoarthritis.

Simply put, the 2015 Michigan study that produced this evidence states that those eating well were having an easier time functioning and managing their pain.

Your best bet is to talk to your doctor, eat a whole-food, plant-based diet of legumes, veggies, fruits and grains. Stay away from refined food, which is not part of the Mediterranean diet.

Fish Oil and Veggies for Joint Pain

One example of a great supplement you can use to relieve joint pain is fish oil. These are high in omega-3 fatty acids.

Studies surrounding the consumption of fish oil show that it has benefits of the anti-inflammatory type and is very helpful for those with joint pain.

You can find fish oil in cold-water fish, like sardines, trout and salmon. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, you can get your serving from flax seeds, chia seeds, and organic soybeans.

There was also a study from Australia dating from 2008 that indicated fish oil provided a great reduction to joint pain, an improvement to cardiovascular health, and a reduced need for NSAIDs.

Kylene Bogden, a dietitian the Cleveland Clinic consulted with regarding this topic, stated that just one serving of cold-water fish twice per week would be enough.

Daily, she recommends a high-quality fish oil supplement daily in addition to consumption of it in your diet naturally.

Another great addition to your diet will be cruciferous vegetables. You should be eating plenty of veggies-it’s just a great, idea-but you will really want to make sure you take in a half cup of stuff like broccoli, cauliflower, kale, or Brussels sprouts, says Kylene Bogden.

They are nature’s powerhouses, loaded with antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins for your good health.

It was a 2005 Maryland study that showed sulphoraphane, an antioxidant compound that is found within cruciferous veggies, blocks an enzyme that causes inflammation and pain in the joints.

Aside from people suffering from arthritis, this may be a great help for athletes who put a lot of pressure on their joints in training and competition.

Herbs, Spices and More

Two of the greatest spices you can get for your joint pain relief include turmeric and ginger. They are renowned for their anti-inflammatory benefits and are often found in Indian foods.

Turmeric is also used in Asian traditional medicinal practices for its anti-inflammatory benefits.

You can add turmeric and ginger to your smoothies, sauces or morning eggs for a one-two punch of anti-inflammatory goodness.

A study from 2006 out of Arizona showed positive research that linked turmeric to prevention of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis.

One wonderful way to get your daily turmeric serving is by taking in Cody Bramlett’s Turmeric Capsules.

Cody Bramlett is a gym owner in San Diego, California who has helped many overcome physical aches and pains while improving their physical performance.

Known as Turmeric with BioPerine, this wonderful formula is going to help you get healthier.  When you order these supplements, you get a 60-capsule supply of these great little supplements.

They are packed with turmeric, curucumin, and BioPerine. These ingredients pack in nutrients like manganese, iron, VitaminB6, calcium, chromium, potassium and Vitamin K. The capsules are veggie-based, so those following a plant-based diet need not worry about consuming them.

This supplement not only helps to reduce inflammation, it will also help improve your concentration and focus.

The supplement is specially formulated to be potent, and its potency is enhanced by black pepper is simply packed full of helpful vitamins and nutrients.

Its combination of special spices and healthy ingredients will get your body functioning and also help melt stored fat.

Green tea is another drink you can sip to reap the benefits of good, natural joint pain relief. It is one of the world’s most beloved drinks, and the effects it has on health have been researched the world over.

In Maryland, for example, a study performed in 2008 showed that green tea brought forth changes in arthritis-related immune responses, says the Cleveland Clinic.

Using NSAIDs long-term can cause you discomfort and have adverse effects. The polyphenolic compounds found in green tea have properties of the anti-inflammatory type and are a great help when using nutritional therapy.

It is recommended you choose organic green tea, as this will reduce your exposure to pesticides.

What Should I Avoid When It Comes To Lowering My Joint Pain?

As you seek to manage your pain effectively, there are foods you will want to avoid. Some of the heavy hitters are sugars and refined grains. Examples include pasta, white bread and rice. These are the culprits which add to joint inflammation rather than fight it.

You will also wish to limit your sugar intake, six teaspoons for women and nine teaspoons for men are the recommended amounts. Use natural sweeteners like maple syrup, honey, and coconut sugar.

Red meat is also one to avoid-beef, lamb and pork are known to increase inflammation. If it comes from an animal with four legs, do your best to avoid it. You will also want to avoid partially hydrogenated oil and trans fats.

In the USA, Americans tend to eat lots of processed foods which contain Omega-6 fatty acids. These promote inflammation, and sources like corn oil, safflower and sunflower oil, peanut oil, and grapeseed/vegetable oil are the main culprits here.

Avoid these as best you can and be sure to check condiment labels like mayo and salad dressings to make sure you do not accidentally consume them.

Salt is often found in excessive amounts within processed foods as a means of preserving them and extending their shelf life. For some consumers, eating these excessive amounts of salt may result in joint inflammation.

You may benefit from reducing your salt intake to a reasonable amount. As you do with the Omega-6 oils, read the nutrition labels on each of these foods to educate yourself about what’s in them.

Although very easy to buy and store, convenience foods like microwave meals or potato chips are loaded with sodium.

Other products you should avoid are alcohol and tobacco. Many of us are fully aware of the health risks associated with smoking and drinking.

But did you know that some of these effects extend to your joint health? Smokers especially are at risk for development of rheumatoid arthritis, and those who consume alcohol have a higher probability of developing gout.

The best thing to do is to make sure you are eating a balanced diet of wholesome, real foods, getting enough rest, and taking part in daily exercise or other physical activity.

Cut back on the smokes and the drinks and start a healthy diet and exercise regimen with the help of your physician. Get enough sleep. It is not easy to give up what tastes and feels good, but your joints and overall health will thank you.

Conclusion

Thankfully, those who are suffering from joint pain and inflammation do not have to rely solely upon medicines and doctor visits to manage their pain.

While it is extremely important to stay in contact with your physician and follow his or her orders, there is comfort in knowing that pain can be managed by modifying your diet, and following a healthy, whole-foods approach.

Even if you struggle with getting your vegetables or do not know how to include various herbs and spices like turmeric or ginger into your diet, supplements like Organifi Green Juice can provide you an easy and tasty way to get what you need.

Start by speaking with your doctor to determine what is best for you. Then, clean out your home of any foods that will lead to inflamed joints and more pain.

Choose and purchase foods that will help you and aid you in your quest to live a pain-free life. You can also meet with a registered dietician for ideas and suggestions about creating a diet that works for you. By making smart choices now, you will enjoy lesser pain and better health as time goes on.

Hip Joint Pain Causes

Common Causes of Hip Joint Pain

Hip joint pain causes are numerous, and our goal is to teach you effective ways of managing your pain. It can be done with a little planning, and the right supplements.

Your hip joint is an amazing thing-it can withstand repeated motions and a good amount of wear and tear. Your body is like an amazing machine.

The ball and socket joint, which is your body’s largest, fits together perfectly to allow for fluid, free movements.

Imagine that the next time you watch a figure skater do a jump, or a gymnast execute flips and turns perfectly. It’s nearly magic!

Whenever the hip is used-for example, going for a walk or doing a dance class-a cushion of cartilage prevents friction as the hip bone moves around in its socket. And even though our bodies are nothing short of amazing, the hip bone is not an indestructible object.

With age and everyday use, the cartilage wears down and becomes damaged. Your hip bones can break during a fall or injury. These conditions can lead to serious hip pain.

If your hips are feeling sore, continue reading to find out some causes.

Culprits of Hip Pain

Arthritis, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis are all causes of hip pain, especially among older adults. Arthritis leads to inflammation of the hip joints, and breakdown of the cartilage that offers the cushion around your hip bones.

This pain gets worse over time. People suffering from this will have a reduced range of motion in their hip and feel a sense of stiffness.

Tendinitis is another big cause of hip pain. These thick bands of tissue that attach bone to muscle can become inflamed or irritated. This is caused by repetitive stress from overuse of the tendon.

Bursitis is another cause. Bursae are liquid sacs found between tissues like bone, muscle or tendons. They ease the friction when tissues rub together.

But when they get inflamed, they cause pain. Repetitive activities that overwork and/or irritate the hip joint leads to inflammation.

A hip labral tear is another cause of pain. This is a tear in the ring of cartilage (the labrum) that goes around the outside rim of the socket of your hip joint.

Aside from cushioning the hip joint, the labrum acts almost like a gasket or rubber seal that holds the ball at the top of your thigh-bone safely and securely within the hip socket.

Those who perform repetitive twisting movements, like athletes, are at a higher risk of developing this issue.

Muscle or tendon strain

Repeated activities will put strain on your muscles, ligaments and tendons that provide support to the hips. When they get inflamed due to overuse and overwork, they cause pain and prevent your hip from working as it normally would.

Cancers can also cause you pain. Tumors that start in the bone or those that spread to the bone may cause pain in your hips, and in other bones of the body.

Avascular Necrosis, or Osteonecrosis-this is a condition that results when the blood flow to the hip bone slows down and the bone tissue dies.

It can affect other bones, but mostly affects the hip. This can be caused by a dislocation or hip fracture, or from using high doses of steroids like prednisone. There are other causes, too.

Hip Pain Symptoms

Depending upon the condition that is causing your hip pain, you might feel pain in your groin, buttocks, inside of the hip joint, outside of the hip joint, or the thigh.

You can also get pain from other areas of your body, like the back or the groin (sometimes results from a hernia). These can radiate to the hip.

You may even notice that your pain gets worse with activity, especially if it is caused by arthritis.  You might have a reduced range of motion along with the pain. You may also develop a limp from this persistent pain.

Methods of Relief

Thankfully, you do not have to suffer in silence. You can take advantage of many natural and easy methods of managing your joint pain. You can choose from a wide range of supplements, exercises, or medications prescribed by your physician.

If your hip pain stems from osteoarthritis or a tendon strain, tendinitis or a muscle strain, you can use an over the counter medication like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Naproxen also works well. They are available at many drug and grocery stores.

If you are afflicted with rheumatoid arthritis, you can use prescription anti-inflammatory medications like DMARDs (disease modifying anti rheumatic drugs). Prescriptions for DMARDs may include methotrexate and sulfasalazine, or biologics, which target your immune system.

You can also ice the hip pain. Hold an ice pack to the area for about 15 minutes per day. Rest your joint as much as you can until you feel better. A warm shower or bath may also help you. Warming up in the shower can help you get ready for exercises that help lessen the pain.

Exercises that help arthritis are low-impact actions like stretching, swimming, and resistance training. You can also attend physical therapy.

Eating the Right Foods

Eating the right foods may also help with your joint pain. If you begin to experience inflammation in your joints, make sure you are staying away from processed and salty foods.

Be sure to cut back on these foods and replace them with wholesome foods that contain valuable nutrients and healthy fats. Omega-3 fatty acids are good for you and are found in certain types of fish and chia/flax seeds.

You may also wish to seek out green tea as the polyphenols in the tea have been known to assist in joint pain. Some that suffer from joint pain follow the Mediterranean diet, which features legumes, vegetables, whole grains, and nuts.

You also use herbs and spices to flavor your food instead of salt, which is healthier overall. Red meat is a rarity on this diet, being consumed only a few times per month.

Cody Bramlett’s Turmeric with BioPerine is a combination of all spices necessary to maintain optimum health! It helps users with their depression, inflammation, and sleep issues.

All you have to do is take two capsules each day with your meals, and you get to reap the benefits of what’s included: Turmeric, curcumin, and BioPerine.

These ingredients are made from Vitamin B6, iron, manganese, Vitamin K, potassium, calcium, and chromium. Your whole body will feel revitalized and healthy.

It will not only get your joints feeling pain-free and healthy but will make you feel like yourself again. You will even get a weight loss boost when taking this supplement.

While your mileage may vary, you might feel the effects that some customers felt. After two days, your back will loosen up. After four days, the joint pain will start to disappear. And after seven days, sleeping through the night will not be an issue for you.

It works by using ingredients that are known to make you feel better. Curcumin, for example, is an ingredient that has been proven to reduce inflammation. Potassium reduces stress and prevents cramps.

Calcium helps you stay healthy in the bone area and improves your nerve function and muscle health. Vitamin K keeps osteoporosis down as you age.

And fiber will improve your digestion and reduce inflammation in the intestine. These are just a few of the great benefits this supplement can bring to you.

Conclusion

The best way to manage your hip pain is to speak to a doctor about the best course of treatment. He or she will steer you in the right direction and help you feel better.

You can help yourself along with great supplements like Turmeric with BioPerine, or even over the counter medicines purchased at your local grocery or drugstore.

You can also talk to your doctor or a registered dietitian about how to modify your diet and reduce inflammation.

Remember, if the pain is too harsh-if you cannot put any weight on the hip, or you heard a popping noise when you injured your hip-get medical help right away.

A balanced combination of doctor’s advice, the right medicines, and wholesome foods plus real supplements will help you feel better in no time.

YogaDownload Review – Here’s What I Really Think!

yogadownload-review

I’m sure many of you have had a situation where you’ve paid any type of membership and didn’t go to more than 2 or 3 classes.

Well, I experienced that a lot, and not because I was irresponsible, but it was just how it turned out. Really.

Here’s what happened…

I’ve always been an active person that leads a healthy life. I always tend to buy organic food, I love to cook, I walk my dog every day and most important for this review – I visit yoga classes 3 times a week.

Well, actually, I’m supposed to say those things in past sentence. I did all those things before.

Once I got accepted at my job as a financial advisor, everything in my life seemed to start taking a wrong turn.

My job included traveling very often, sometimes for weeks at a time, which meant I couldn’t visit the yoga classes I did until then.

Plus, I was staying at hotels, so I couldn’t cook for myself, nor buy my healthy groceries anymore.

I was home for the weekends, but what was I supposed to do first – see my family, friends and my dog, rest for the upcoming week, do exercise, shop, rest, date, go out…WHAT?

My life was in total chaos. I looked so composed and professional on the outside, but inside me was an emotional and psychological chaos.

Quitting was not an option for me, because I worked so hard to get to that position, but the change in lifestyle was so much to take in, that I was in utter chaos, trust me.

This resulted in me feeling tired and agitated all the time. I desperately wanted to find a way to balance everything, but I just didn’t have the time.

Yoga helped me release my body of the negative energy and be positive, so when that was taken away from me, I didn’t know how to cope with all the stress.

I stopped buying organic food and cooking since I didn’t have the time to prepare it anyway, so my weight started to go up.

Now I was faced with another problem in my life. I didn’t consider myself fat by any means, but my body wasn’t what it was before…it didn’t look as it did before.

I thought that my weight was going to be the biggest issue I’d have to deal with. I was so wrong.

I started experiencing episodes of pain in my lower back. Actually, they first started as small stiffness in my back, which I ignored, but then gradually started increasing to the point I had to take painkillers to stop them for a while.

I kept postponing going to the doctor, thinking it would go away on itself which obviously didn’t happen.

I found myself consuming painkillers daily and when my mother saw me doing it, she immediately scheduled an appointment with my physician.

He did a scan of my back which showed I had developed spondylosis. My whole lower back was inflamed, which was why I experienced stiffness and back pain.

When we were discussing the treatment of my condition, I mentioned I used to do yoga and he told me that that was one of the best things I could do to help cure my spondylosis. So, I knew I had to go back to it, but I just had to find a way I could do it.

I started thinking about doing yoga for the weekends only since I was certainly home then, but that turned out impossible, then I tried looking for a yoga company that holds classes in multiple states that would allow me to pay a monthly membership…but that also wasn’t a viable option.

Then, because of my searches, I saw an ad about a website called YogaDownload. Unconsciously, I opened it and found the thing that saved me.

It was a website with online yoga classes by professionals, which meant I could do yoga wherever I wanted.

The fact that I was on the road often didn’t matter, all I needed was my yoga mat and a gadget where I could play the videos, and I was good to go!

The thought of being able to go back to having my healthy lifestyle, while still keeping my career was a shot I could not miss.

So, I started reading as much as I could about it, and once I ordered it, everything started happening at once.

This whole experience was so amazing I just had to share it with you. Following is everything you need to know about Yogadownload and how it helped me.

What is YogaDownload?

Yogadownload is a widely popular online service that allows you to view 1,000 online yoga classes through their website in exchange for a membership fee.

Depending on the program you buy from them, you can also download the videos and watch them on PC, laptop, tablet, phone or whatever gadget you own.

This was a huge plus for me since I always prefer sitting on my iPad rather than the laptop or PC (but don’t we all?).

So, this meant that I probably could do yoga whenever and wherever I wanted. Like, I wouldn’t have to go out in the cold. Nor in the hot. I could just decide I wanted to do yoga NOW, and do it. Quite appealing, isn’t it?

Needless to say, with the busy schedule I had, this was perfect for me.

The Creator of YogaDownload

Anyone who has visited yoga classes even a few times will know that not everyone can be a yoga master or teach yoga.

This is why I wanted to find out who designed this website and who came up with all the classes on it. I wanted to be sure that I wouldn’t just waste my time and effort for nothing.

So, I went on their website and found that it said “Founded by people who love yoga, love music, and experience life as an extension of their practice, Yoga Download is yoga for the way you really live” which was even better than what I expected.

It wasn’t made by one person that wanted to make profits out of something, but from a group of people that look at yoga as a way of life, and want to share that lifestyle with others.

How Does YogaDownload Work

The basic principle of the website is the same as any other membership website. You need to sign in, choose the type of access you’d like, the level of yoga experience you have, and you’re good to go.

So, when I went to sign in to the website, I first had to choose which type of access I’d get. I knew that yoga classes were over $50 a month, so I made the decision not to pay a price over that.

And let me tell you people, I was shocked at how cheap the programs were.

There were 2 offers I could choose:

  • Premier which offered unlimited video streaming, 4 class downloads for free every month and 50% discount on programs and packages for $10 a month.
  • Elite which offered unlimited video streaming, unlimited free video downloads every month and free programs and packages for $18 a month.

These programs were also available to get for multiple months at a discounted price.

  • 3 months Premier for $24
  • 6 months Premier for $45
  • Yearly Elite for $90

I personally decided to go for the Elite program, the monthly one because it was the one that offered the biggest access to thing for an affordable price.

And I wanted to try it out first before getting the long-term version of it.

What’s Included in The Program

When I got my access, there were a few more choices I had to make. The next thing I had to choose was the program I was going to follow and there were 4 levels offered:

Level 1 – Beginner – designed for people with minimal or no experience in yoga, but want to start practicing it. It has all the basics explained before starting so anyone can understand how to do yoga properly before starting.

Level 2 – Experienced Beginner – yoga level for those who have a little bit of knowledge about yoga, but want to learn more about it through yoga classes.

Level 3 – Intermediate – classes for those who’ve probably visited a few yoga classes and know the basics of yoga, breathing, and movements.

Level 4 – Advanced-Intermediate – for those who are experienced in yoga and want to perform advanced poses.

Because I had a background knowledge of yoga as I mentioned previously, I decided to go for the Intermediate program.

It’s really important to choose the right program for you, since all the videos are made according to the level of knowledge you select.

There was one more thing I chose, but this was a decision I was making every time I decided to exercise. It was the level of intensity the classes were going to be.

They were specifically made for every program, so it didn’t matter which level I was on, I could always go for the type of exercise I wanted. As of now, I’ve tested each intensity and this was my experience with each one:

Ahhhhhh – Lowest Intensity – Whenever I just wanted to relax and let go of the negativity in my life, I’d go for the lowest intensity class.

After each session, I felt relaxed and more balanced, as if all the negative tension from my body suddenly disappeared. I recommend this class for anyone that as a stressful life and needs to relax.

Everyday Namaste – Low Intensity –In the beginning, the everyday Namaste exercises were a bit challenging to do, since I was really out of shape, but once I got back in it, they were a great stretching or warming up for the daily routines.

You’ll Feel It – Medium Intensity – I call these classes a nice sweat session that I enjoy. I must say they are personally my favorite because they combine everything I need – strengthening of the muscles, stretching, sweating off extra weight and releasing myself from the negativity inside me.

Bring A Towel – High Intensity – whenever I had enough time and I wasn’t exhausted, this was my go-to class. It’s designed to make you sweat like crazy, so I’d recommend you go for this one last.

There are hundreds of yoga styles included in the program, so never, not even for a second did I feel bored of exercising.

The list of yoga styles includes: Align and Flow, Anusara Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Baptiste Power Yoga, Beginner Yoga, Barre, Bhakti Yoga, Films & Documentaries, Forrest Yoga, Fusion Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Hot Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Jivamukti Yoga, Kid’s Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Pilates, Power Yoga, Prana Flow Vinyasa, Pranayama, Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga With Weights, and Yoga en Español.

The Pros and Cons of Using YogaDownload

I personally LOVE the program. There are so many things I can do thanks to it, that I wouldn’t be able to do with other programs.

It’s convenient – unlike yoga classes, I can practice at the comfort of my own home, in the hotels during my travels or any other place I wanted.

Personalized training – whether you want just a quick stretch or a nice sweating, you can always choose how much and how long you will exercise for. There were also countless styles to choose from, so I haven’t managed to try out even half of them.

Affordable exercise – Yoga classes can cost up to $100 a month, while YogaDownload is $90 PER YEAR. I think I don’t even need to explain this further.

24/7 access – yoga classes are in a pre-arranged time and at a pre-arranged place, which means that if you’re busy, you’d miss the session and your money. With Yogadownload, all the videos are there, in your device (in my case my phone), so you can do yoga the minute you want to.

Professional service – The people working on the website are true professionals. I can’t even begin to explain how unified every class is. It has the perfect ambient, perfect accompanying music and wonderful yoga teachers from all over the world. I really appreciated all the attention put into all of it.

Χ No direct contact – This is one of the few things that I didn’t like. Whenever I was unable to do a pose or had some question about a technique, I didn’t have anyone to ask, which bothered me a bit. It’s always better to have someone motivate you throughout the class and give you advice.

See What Others Say about YogaDownload

When it’s your hard-earned money being spent, I still care what other people think about YogaDownload.

“I would recommend this site to anyone and everyone. It’s accessible to all levels and engaging for even the most advanced of practitioners.” – Anne Rapp
theyoganomads.com

“In addition to personally using the site, I have had clients and friends purchase the service in the past month after my recommendation.  The site is a value and worth every penny.” –Genevieve brokegirlfitness.com

The benefits of using Yogadownload

Ah, I can’t even begin to thank this website enough because it has done so much for me.

I’m able to do what I’ve always wanted to do – practice yoga regularly without having to sacrifice an important aspect of my life.

I can do it whenever I want and wherever I want, and the fact that I’m traveling often doesn’t even matter.

As time went on, I noticed that the constant pain in my back started to disappear slowly.

I was more mobile, felt better and eventually, I was pain-free. I visited my physician and he said my back had slowly started to recuperate.

My inflammation was starting to disappear, which made me so happy. I actually did notice it happened since I didn’t experience the pain I previously did when I was sitting or standing for long periods.

Not only that but previously, when I saw all that weight I was putting on, my confidence really took a hit.

In my mind, I was letting go of myself and my health, which is something I promised myself I wouldn’t do.

I thought that I’d have to make a choice between two things I cared about a lot – health or my job, not knowing I had Yogadownload as an option.

Thanks to it, I’m able to be the successful corporate woman I always dreamed of being, while still being able to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Yoga doesn’t only help me maintain my physical health, but also my mental health.

Working as a financial advisor is really stressful since I have so many lives and companies depending on me (and a nagging manager). Yoga helped me relax, breathe and let go of everything.

I was able to deal with the problems in my life more rationally and not panic in sticky situations, which also helped me improve my work results.

Bloating And Back Pain

Abdominal Bloating and Back Pain

If you have ever eaten too much at dinner or consumed a lot of foods with salt in them, you have likely been the recipient of bloating.

This feeling leads to massive discomfort in the abdominal area. Clothing may feel too tight, and you may feel sick and have trouble concentrating.

If you have sat in a chair in an uncomfortable position for too long or done strenuous activity at your place of employment or the gym, you likely have back pain as a result. Bloating and back pain are actually related.

These bothersome ailments are something we all will experience in our lifetime, but there is good news in that we can easily treat them with a little know-how and the right supplements.

General Overview

Bloating happens when the abdomen fills up with air or gas. This makes your abdomen appear larger than normal, and it might feel tight or even hard when you touch it.

It can also cause feelings of pain and discomfort which can be felt in your back.

Your back is your body’s support system. It stabilizes you. It is very susceptible to injury and strain, and so it is not uncommon to feel back pain when you have abdominal bloating.

The pain can vary in its severity and type. You might feel a sharp and stabbing pain, or even a dull and achy pain. We will now discuss 14 different reasons you might experience bloating and back pain.

  1. Getting Your Period-Menstruation happens when the uterus sheds its lining every month. You might experience pain, cramping, and some discomfort during this time. It is normal. Check with your doctor for more reasons you might experience pain during menstruation.
  2. PMS– Premenstrual Syndrome is a condition, women sometimes get before starting their period.
Their emotions, health and behaviors during certain days of their menstrual cycle, are all affected. This generally happens before menses occurs.
  3. Pregnancy is another reason you may experience bloating or back pain. Although a joyous condition, it is not without ailments such as fatigue, nausea, tender breasts, swollen breasts, and cramps/light bleeding.
  4. IBS-Irritable bowel syndrome is a collection of symptoms that often occur together. Irritable bowel syndrome is common and causes many to seek out medical help for its treatment and management.
  5. Gallstones are another cause of feeling pain in the back or abdomen. Lots of people have these and simply do not know it.They are hard deposits in the gallbladder, which is a small organ whose purpose is to store bile (a digestive fluid produced in the liver). You can speak with your doctor to learn about gallstones.
  6. Kidney stones develop within the kidneys, but they are capable of developing anywhere along your urinary tract.
  7. Having a UTI or urinary tract infection can lead to pain in the back. A UTI can occur along any part of the urinary tract. Bacterias are the main cause of most UTIs. You can prevent them by drinking six to eight glasses of water each day, going to the bathroom as soon as you feel the need to do so, and speaking with your doctor about managing any bladder or incontinence issues.
  8. Ovarian cysts are a further cause of bloating and back pain. A fluid filled sac known as a cyst will develop on one of the ovaries in a woman. Most women will develop at least one cyst in their lifetimes. These come in various forms, like a follicle cyst, a corpus luteum cyst, or dermoid cyst. Be sure to check with a healthcare professional for more information.
  9. Celiac disease is another cause of bloating and/or back pain. It is a digestive disorder that is caused by having an abnormal immune gluten reaction. The symptoms of celiac disease usually involve the intestines and digestive system but may very well affect other parts of your body. Foods to avoid include wheat, spelt, rye, barley, bulgur, durum and several others.
  10. Having an ectopic pregnancy may also be a cause for pain. In this pregnancy, the fertilized egg fails to attach to the uterus but instead to the fallopian tube, cervix, or abdominal cavity. This can very well be a medical emergency.
  11. Ovarian Cancer occurs in several parts of the ovary and can be a cause for pain.
  12. Polio is a highly contagious ailment that is caused by a virus that attacks the nervous system.
  13. Fibromyalgia is a long-term or chronic disorder. It is associated with a wide-spread pain in your muscles and bones, general fatigue and having areas of tenderness.
  14. Endometriosis is a cause, and the symptoms vary. Some women experience mild syndromes, while others’ symptoms range from moderate to severe.

What About Abdominal Bloating?

You can experience abdominal bloating by eating or drinking too fast, chewing gum or smoking, or even wearing dentures that are loose.

When your body breaks down food, gas builds up in your digestive tract from the esophagus all the way to the large intestine. You can lose air by burping or flatulence.

Other reasons you may experience abdominal bloating and back pain include:

  • Ascites, or fluid buildup in the abdomen
  • Cancerous tumors like Ovarian carcinoma
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Liver disease
  • A gastrointestinal tract infection, perforation, or obstruction.

What Should I Do?

Be sure that you seek immediate help from a medical professional if you are pregnant, your abdominal bloating and back pain are more intense than you remember, over the counter medications or pain relievers do not bring relief, or your daily functioning is impacted.

Furthermore, if you notice blood in your stool, difficulty breathing, chest pains, fever, chills, uncontrolled vomiting, or difficulty breathing or confusion, get medical help right away.

How Can I Treat This?

Your pain will, in most cases, resolve itself. However, there are steps you can follow at home to manage any discomfort you feel and get the symptoms cleared up faster. To get your bloating down, you can:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Take over-the-counter medications that reduce gas, acid, or digestive enzymes
  • Reduce your straw use and take in fewer carbonated drinks
  • Avoid eating foods that cause gas, like foods high in carbs. You should avoid dried beans, dairy products containing lactose, starchy foods, and high-fructose items.
  • Avoid eating foods that you know will make you bloat.

For back pain, you can apply an ice pack and a heat pack for ten minutes on and off. Be sure to also rest your back and refrain from lifting heavy objects.

You can also get a massage. They may help relieve your back pain and provide bloating relief.

Getting enough exercise and having good posture will also help you. Make sure your chair at work is set so it is comfortable you. Do exercise

that challenges you at your own ability level.

You can also take OTC pain relievers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Be wary of this, as overuse of these medicines can have negative repercussions.

Talk to your doctor about ways to manage your pain if you need to use these for an extended period.

Turmeric Power

You also should not underestimate the power of turmeric. Sometimes our body gets in pain because of inflammation. Inflammation is often a good thing- it is our body’s way of treating an injury.

However, some common occurrences like stress become a reason for your body to react and send a signal out to the white blood cells to do their job and inflame whatever area is affected.

Chronic inflammation leads to a poor feeling overall and can even impede us from living our daily lives. You may wish to consider the natural healing properties of turmeric as a way to reduce this inflammation. Its key ingredient is curcumin.

source

If you are unsure of what supplement you should take, you may wish to start with Cody Bramlett’s Natural Turmeric with BioPerine. This cutting-edge formula combines all your body needs to feel good.

Ingredients like turmeric, curcumin, and BioPerine come together, made from Vitamin K, chromium, calcium, manganese, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B6.

This blend is an amazing, organic and safe way to get what you need to feel more energized and reduce the pain you feel in your back.

Your experience will be unique, but some users have reported that after two days, their back loosened up a bit. After four days, joint pain was disappearing into thin air.

And after seven days, the same customer was sleeping through the night, something that had not happened in a while.

The formula works by combining all the wonderful vitamins and minerals as listed above. Potassium, for example, helps prevent cramps, balances pressure levels, and reduces stress.

Manganese will help keep bones strong and blood circulation going. Fiber, which is also part of these capsules, will help keep your intestines clear and aid with digestion.

Copper will help deal with inflammation, while chromium helps boost your metabolism. The supplement also features piperine which has been used for a long time in traditional medicine and gives black pepper its potency.

You very well may experience a weight-loss boost along with increased concentration and focus while taking this supplement.

The formula was created by Cody Bramlett, a gym owner in San Diego, California. Through his gym, Cody Bramlett has helped many reach their potential when it comes to physical fitness.

Now, through the use of his well-researched and well-developed supplement, Bramlett brings health in the form of turmeric. The capsule is entirely natural and a fantastic way to help yourself feel better.

Conclusion

Abdominal pain as well as back pain are a common part of all our lives. Not a single one of us will go through life without experiencing it in one form or another.

The best thing to do is to know and understand the causes, and then take measures to feel better.

You may even consider taking a supplement packed full of benefits like Turmeric with BioPerine for an easy and natural way of managing symptoms.

If pain becomes too hard to manage or if you have any concerns, be sure to speak to a doctor right away.

By knowing what causes the pain and having a wide range of tools, treatments and good doctors for help, these pains can be eradicated with ease.

The Paleohacks Cookbook Review – Here’s What I Really Think!

this is an image of the paleohacks cookbook

I’ve always been one of those people that kinda wants to lead a healthy lifestyle, but kinda loves her snacks and pizza too.

When I was younger, I tried leading a healthy lifestyle, but snacks and fast foods always got the better of me.

To be honest with you, I love fries, pizza, chips and every other snack so much that they often replaced my meals.

And I won’t look for excuses, it wasn’t because I didn’t have the time to cook healthy meals.

I was just bored of bland salads and unseasoned meats that were called “the healthy foods” and would always pick a tasty pizza over them.

Plus, I’m terrible at cooking so preparing complex meals was a challenge for me, and fast food delivery was…delivery.

Okay, okay, I was lazy. I admit it. But I really did try!

I also used to read a lot about healthy diets and healthy lifestyles regularly, but I gave up and stopped doing that too.

But, my body doesn’t stay young forever. And I learned that the hard way. Once I turned 30, everything body-related started going downhill for me.

While I didn’t put much weight on, I began to see the results of my unhealthy way of eating.

I started getting tons of cellulite, stretch marks and loose skin all over my body.

Because my skin was looking dim and gloomy, I looked older than my age, so I started dressing like a middle-aged woman to cover the loose skin on my arms and the cellulite on my legs.

And I certainly didn’t feel middle aged! But the reality was such…I really looked like that.

I’m a very self-conscious woman and this really started to bother me.

I was analyzing my body in the mirror every day to the point that I lose every confidence in it.

I looked around me and saw all my friends looking so good and healthy, going out to clubs and pools, and there I was…grumpy ol’ me, all covered up.

As time passed, I lost confidence to the point I felt…less. I don’t know how else to explain it.

Everyone started getting worried about me. The bubbly person they knew that always made jokes about everything, that was fun, outgoing, and talked to everyone was now withdrawn and quiet.

They kept asking me what was wrong, did anything happen, but I kept lying to them that everything was okay, when it was clearly not.

I had one of my closest friends come up to me and ask me directly…”Is it because of your body? Do you think you don’t look pretty?”

This was the last straw, the drop that spilled the glass.

I broke down and sat down with her to tell her everything that was going on and she helped me tell everyone else.

The amount of support I received from my friends was overwhelming.

They all tried different ways to help me, whether by talking or by giving me recommendations on how I can improve my life. One of them sent me a link to a Facebook group about some Paleohack diet.

It had quite a few members in it, so I started reading what they all had to say about it. The feedback about it was very positive I must say.

Everyone had amazing results in a short period of time, and not just physical as in, losing weight, but also health improvements.

Many told their stories about how they managed to cure conditions such as diabetes, weak muscles and chronic fatigue, which are very difficult to overcome.

There was one pinned post about a cookbook made according to the diet, so I opened that link. As I read more and more about the cookbook, I realized it was the right choice for me and I decided to order it.

I made a promise to myself that I will commit myself to it and change my life completely.

Turns out that it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.

If you want to know my journey, my whole amazing experience is explained below…

What is the Paleohacks diet and cookbook?

The whole point of this diet and the cookbook made by it is to return people to the “original way of eating”, meaning, to the way we’re supposed to feed our body and get nutrients from.

Refined foods, preservatives, and additives are a regular ingredient in many foods we consume, and these chemicals weren’t in the food of our ancestors, a time where heart diseases, diabetes, obesity, and other conditions didn’t even exist.

That’s not a coincidence, but a result of the healthy, organic food they ate.

That’s the way we’re supposed to eat in order to stay healthy. As our ancestors.

And no, that doesn’t mean raw meat and leaves. I thought so too until I got the cookbook. It means eating the right food your body needs, but cooked properly so all the nutrients stay in it.

What’s included in the Paleohacks Cookbook

Let me tell you something. I’m a bit of a frugal person.

Even though I make a good living with my job, I always look for a bargain anyways, so you could guess how happy I was when I saw there was an offer at the Paleohacks cookbook website.

The full price of the cookbook along with the 4 additional manuals was $162, and I got them all for only $13! All the bonuses were completely FREE!

And guys, wow! I wasn’t just lucky to get them for free as a gift, but they were so amazing and helpful that I just have to tell you all about them.

So, here is a breakdown of the complete collection:

The PaleoHacks Cookbook –If I’m being honest, I really suck at cooking.

Many of my attempts at cooking ended up in eating delivery food again because I messed up something in the process. But, in this one-month cookbook the whole process of preparing and cooking the meals was explained step-by-step with photos and everything, so even I could cook them without burning the house down.

There are over 125 delicious healthy meals to choose from, written by healthy, organic food lovers, prepared only with fresh ingredients that don’t have harmful additives in them.

What’s interesting that this cookbook proved to me that dieting is not about starving yourself, or eating bland, boring foods as I previously thought.

The meals can actually taste as good as they look.

What I really loved about the cookbook is that it’s divided into different categories of meals – snacks, soups, salads, meats, omelets, and even deserts.

Whenever I was craving something, I knew exactly on which page to turn and have a variety of foods to choose from. And the best thing about them?

The special categories. Just as a sneak peek – it includes pasta and sandwiches!

Who would’ve thought that pasta and desserts would be on diet menu…

this is an image of the paleohacks cookbook

The 4 bonuses consisted of the following:

The PaleoHacks 30-Day Jumpstart – this jumpstart guide was a great way to get me in the right mindset and get motivated to do better every day right from the start.

The Eating Paleo at Restaurants Guide – We all know how confusing it can be to go out to a restaurant with friends or relatives while you’re on a diet.

When you get the menu, there are so many choices and you sit there, clueless about what to order.

Not all of us are certified nutritionist to know which foods are compatible with our diet and which are not which is why this restaurant guide was made.

I was able to freely go out and know exactly what I can order without disturbing my diet.

The Paleo Foods and Fails Guide – Groceries and the infinite struggle with buying what’s best for us and our diets go hand in hand.

But, with this guide, I got a clear, compact list of my most important groceries, so whenever I entered the supermarket, I could get everything I needed without spending a fortune on foods I will waste.

Additionally, there was a list of the seasonality of the foods and the periods when it’s best to eat them, so I could know when to get everything as fresh as possible.

The Paleo 4X Cookbook – If anyone of you is as busy as I am, you will know that sometimes, preparing meals for hours in the kitchen can be an impossible task.

But by having this cookbook with recipes containing only 4 ingredients, I was able to always prepare food according to my diet plan.

There are 65 different quick meals in it, so I still haven’t managed to cook them all, but what I’ve tasted so far was even better than restaurant-bought meals.

60-days money back guarantee – Whenever I see that there is a money back guarantee, I get a bit more convinced that the diet is really working.

It means that the creator is confident in what he/she made and they promise to return the money if their customers see no results in a certain period of time.

The benefits of using the Paleohacks Cookbook

Guys. Guys. If you’re struggling with fatigue, weakness, complexed skin, cellulite, damaged hair or just feel unwell generally, please try out this cookbook. I promise you will notice improvements in a short period of time, just like I did.

I noticed the first improvements a few days into my new diet and lifestyle.

I was able to get up in the morning without clicking “snooze” 10 times like previously (I know you all do this, admit it!).

2 weeks in and my skin changed. Previously it was dry, gloomy and with uneven color whereas now, it’s looking fresh, young and with an even color.

A month in and I was as good as new. Cellulite, excess fat, what was that? I don’t even remember those words.

Losing weight was honestly between the last things on my list, but I did that too.

My belly is now flat and not wiggling as before when I walked. And that excess skin, or fat, or whatever that thing under your arm is called – that’s gone too.

And don’t worry if you are an inexperienced cook. I too suck at cooking, but everything is so simply laid out that the chances of you messing up are minimal, trust me.

What I loved about the Paleohacks cookbook

There are a few things that I really loved about the cookbook:

Instant access after purchase – as soon as I paid for the cookbook, I received all the files and was ready to start my new life. No waiting, no additional postal or transporting costs.

Simplicity – everything in the cookbooks was simple to understand and simple to make.

Diversity – this wasn’t the typical dieting plan with strict eating schedules and meals that were bland and tasteless. Instead, I ate full course meals with different ingredients that were fresh and healthy for my body.

Healthy options – every single ingredient in the cookbook was carefully chosen so it can benefit my body and bring it in a healthier state than before. Thanks to it, I always knew what I ate and more importantly, why I ate it.

No additional costs for supplements – this is one of the few cookbooks that doesn’t force you into buying additional supplements to replace what you lack in the diet.

There is not even a need for it because everything your body needs; every nutrient can be found in the meals.

It comes with a full 60-day money back guarantee – only a handful of diets offer a full money-back guarantee. That’s how confident the creator is in the cookbook.

Potential downsides:

Available only in electronic version – for those people that love to read, you might not like the fact that the cookbook can only be viewed in an electronic version.

Requires meal prepping time – after all, this is a cookbook. You will need to dedicate time to go grocery shopping, prepare and cook the meals and follow the instructions 24/7.

This can take up some time and effort, so you really have to get yourself in the right mindset and be determined to succeed.

Not enough photos – this wasn’t a downside for me personally, but I noticed there were a few online comments of people saying they wanted more photos of the meals and the cooking process.

Conclusion: Very Satisfied With the Paleohacks Cookbook

I can’t even begin to explain how much my life has changed in the last few months. I don’t have cellulite nor excess fat anymore, and I don’t cover myself up with tons of clothes.

I have nothing to hide now.

I’m able to wear dresses and swimsuits without feeling ashamed of my body.

My skin and hair look healthier and shinier than before, so I finally look my age, which really brought back the confidence I lost.

And, my love life is blooming because of it. Previously, I was always standing alone while my friends got courted, but after a few weeks on the diet guys came up to me and complimented my looks every time I was out.

So, I started going out on dates more frequently, which is how I met my current boyfriend.

I’m even happier with him now and let me tell you, after a few years of it, I’m no longer a celibate!

I don’t even feel tired as before and I don’t experience episodes of brain fog.

Even fatigue has become a foreign word to me. Because of the healthy diet, my blood flow has improved tremendously, which allows my brain to get more oxygen and with it, I have more energy throughout the day to do all the chores, go to work, do some exercise and even go out with my friends regularly.

But the best benefits I experienced weren’t even the physical ones. What I got back was myself.

I’m back to being the old, positive person that wants to be around people and make them happy. I’m no longer just a person that sits in the corner, depressed and unwilling to do anything.

Everyone noticed that change in me and complimented on how happy I looked, which is exactly how I felt.

What can I say… my life is more complete now. I have everything I’ve wanted – friends, health, youth, and most importantly, happiness.

And I got all that thanks to a $13 cookbook. I’m now a proof to everyone that by dedicating yourself and making a few simple changes in your habits, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Why Chronic Inflammation Affects a Large Number of People

this is an image of gut inflammation

Did you know inflammation is your body’s way to fight off harmful substances such as viruses, bacteria, or toxins? The tell-tale signs of inflammation are reddening or swelling of some body part. Other signs include pain in that area.

While inflammation is your body’s defense mechanism and inherently not bad, chronic inflammation, on the other hand, reduces your immune system’s capability to battle with these foreign substances.

When the immune system is overactive, chronic inflammation sets in. By overactive, we mean an immune system that works in the overdrive mode, as if it is malfunctioning or confused.

But is this truly the case? Or is this the result of living in an environment that’s toxic? Or perhaps stress is the root cause of this?

It’s hardly a secret that almost everybody today feels burdened with stress. Also the environment today is more toxic than ever.

One finds cancer-causing and endocrine-disrupting chemicals not only in things like household cleaners but also in food and even water.

Given all this, what else can your body do, expect to fight these risks? The main culprits are poor diet, toxins, and food allergies, and stress.

To tackle inflammation, our bodies have to deal with this unrelenting attack by immune triggers. If you’re looking for an effective way to battle inflammation, you should eat a diet that’s anti-inflammatory in nature.

Gut Health Is Paramount

this is an image of good gut healthAs far as I’m concerned, the place where the fight against inflammation begins in the gut. By gut health, I mean how effective the digestion and healthy the gastrointestinal tract is.

If you think all of this is limited to the stomach, you’re wrong because it goes beyond that and includes large intestine, small intestine, and the colon.

These organs are among the biggest in our body. Precisely for this reason, small lifestyle changes won’t have a considerable impact on them.

That said, the rewards of maintaining a healthy gut are immense. This is because the direct side effect of an unhealthy gut is chronic inflammation.

What Makes a Diet Anti-Inflammatory?

Common sense, believe it or not, is the first ingredient of the anti-inflammatory diet. The first thing you must do is cut down the intake of unhealthy foods such as sugary beverages,

sweets, processed foods, processed meats, red meat, and refined carbs (like pasta, white bread, etc.).

To reduce exposure to harmful, toxic pesticides, eat organic food. Carefully and thoroughly washing the produce will also ensure your exposure to pesticides is the bare minimum if any.

Additionally, you’ll need to reduce the intake of omega-6. This is because foods like these are known to increase inflammation.

this is an image of an anti inflammatory diet

Ideally, the ratio between omega-6 and omega-3 should be approximately 1:1. However, this ratio in the usual American diet can be up to 20:1. According to health experts, this is one of the main factors for chronic inflammation.

On one hand you should limit these inflammatory factors in your diet, and on the other hand, you should include more healthy stuff in your diet.

Anti-inflammatory diets are rich in vegetables (particularly green, leafy vegetables), fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds, legumes, and omega-3s.

However, let’s go a little further into this.

To follow a diet that’s anti-inflammatory, you should eat foods with these four characteristics: detoxifying activity, antioxidant activity, hormone-regulating activity, and nutrient density.

There are several foods which fit this description, but none does so better than these 7 extraordinary powerful foods.

Top 7 Anti-Inflammatory Foods You Should Consume Regularly

Foods with lots of antioxidants can help lower the bad effects of inflammation. Here are some foods you should include in your diet.

  1. Leafy Greens

Eating leafy greens is a healthy habit which you should cultivate immediately. Almost every healthy diet proposes a high intake of leafy greens.

this is an image of anti inflammatory foods

Studies show that healing crucifiers offer your body a slew of nutrients which can tackle inflammation commendably.

Kale is a great choice. You can have it raw by adding it to your salads and smoothies.

You can also add it to your soups, as well as other dishes if you don’t like eating raw kale.

Other excellent choices include Brussels sprouts, collards, Bok choy, and cabbage.

In case you want to make your green cuisine even more effective, consider adding chlorella and spirulina because studies show that they both reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol, and protect against oxidative stress.

  1. Raw Cacao

Did you know that ancient Aztecs called raw cacao “the food of the goods”?

And guess what, they were absolutely right. After all, this plant has more than 300 invigorating compounds, out of which many have excellent anti-inflammatory properties.

What’s more, the antioxidant power of this plant is 20 times more than blueberries. Additionally, it is extremely rich in minerals and vitamins.

However, this doesn’t imply you should eat one Mars bar after another. To get the maximum benefits, you should eat unprocessed and, if possible, unsweetened cacao. However, there’s nothing to worry about because raw cacao is delicious, particularly if you add it in a smoothie.

In case, you don’t wish to keep off sugar, your best bet is to eat organic chocolate, which is 70% or more cacao.

  1. Acai Berry

It is second in the list of the most potent antioxidant food, the first one being, of course, raw cacao. Another good thing is that it is low in sugar.

Additionally, studies have found that Acai Berry reduces inflammation and improves metabolism. In case you’ve never tried Acai Berry, let me tell you, it is an amazingly tasty fruit.

  1. Turmeric

When it comes to anti-inflammatory capabilities, Turmeric is as potent as any other food, if not more. There are innumerable studies that support this claim.

The main ingredient of turmeric, curcumin, is a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. However, it is not the only compound in turmeric that offers health benefits.

Research shows curcumin helps prevent and treat arthritis, general pains and aches, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, depression, and cancer, among others.

As a matter of fact, meta-analyses report that curcumin and other healthful compounds present in turmeric display therapeutic potential for more than 600 health conditions and diseases.

However, there’s one big glitch. Curcumin, as well as other ingredients of turmeric, are not easily absorbed by the body. Some folks add a pinch of black pepper and consume this mixture with fat. For instance, coconut milk or ghee is traditionally used along with turmeric in India.

These practices may help absorb healthful compounds of turmeric. However, research shows that the best way to optimize turmeric benefits is by liposomal delivery.

This process basically encapsulates water-soluble compounds of turmeric with phospholipids. This, in turn, protects the resultant compound from breaking down.

According to a study which was published in Molecular Nutrition & Food, a peer-reviewed journal, liposomal delivery increases absorption by as much as 185 times.

  1. Maca

A South American root, Maca is a potent hormone regulator. For many thousand years it has been used to improve vitality. Additionally, it also possesses strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

  1. Omega-3 fatty acids

This helps heal inflammation, in addition to boosting brain function, supporting heart health, regulating mood, and balancing hormone production.

As said above, a higher ratio between Omega-6s and Omega-3s increases chronic inflammation.  Many aspects of the normal American diet—such as chips, junk foods, red meat, baked goods with added sugar, and processed foods—are rich in omega-6s and hence are not good from inflammation point of view.

You can keep a healthy Omega-6s and Omega-3s ratio by:

  • avoiding unhealthy foods listed above
  • eating a lot of nuts, as well as seeds (particularly chia seeds and flaxseeds)
  • eating plenty of leafy greens
  • add wild-caught fish or a supplement containing omega-3 to your diet

Fish oil has long been hailed as a good option for upping the intake omega-3. However, algae oil is regarded by many as a potentially safer option.

  1. Ginger

One component of ginger, in particular, has very strong anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Its name is 6-gingerol. It is also known to be effective against migraine headaches, as well as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

These seven foods are effective in reducing inflammation, but there are other foods too with strong anti-inflammatory capabilities. These include tea, coffee, nuts, seeds, beans, legumes, garlic, onion, avocados, berries, and cruciferous veggies.

How to Control Inflammation in The Body

Do you feel overwhelmed by so much information? Well, you can proceed gradually.

Your first step should be to eliminate inflammatory, processed sugar, and junk foods. In place of them eat more of whole foods.

The next step should be to include anti-inflammatory foods in your diets, such as acai berry, raw cacao, turmeric, maca, omega-3s, ginger and other foods that are anti-inflammatory in nature.

Key Takeaway: One of the biggest risks to your health is chronic inflammation. Far too many people are facing health problems because of it. However, you can avoid being the next victim.

Take charge of your health and embrace healthy foods, maintain adequate water intake, exercise regularly, learn how to manage stress effectively, and get adequate sleep.

Kyle Cooper: The Fat Decimator System Review

this is an image of the fat decimator system review

Growing up in a southern family, life was all about Sunday lunches with the family.

Everyone knows how southerners love eating big meals filled with meat…and a lot of it. My childhood revolved around me eating big meals, both in my house and my grandparent’s house.

A major rule in my house was that no one can’t get off the table until they finish their plate, something a lot of you can relate to I’m sure.

Because I was raised like that, I formed the habit of always finishing my plate, no matter how big the meal was, which is not a good habit to have.

In my family, chubby kids were perceived as healthy kids, so when I put on a few pounds, no one thought anything bad of it.

Quite the contrary, they were seeing it as a sign that I was eating healthy.

During my teen and young adult years, I kept on getting more and more weight. I tried so many diets to lose the excess weight I had, but nothing seemed to be working for me.

The weird thing was that many of my friends were dieting and losing a lot of weight, but when I was doing the same things, I managed to lose only a few pounds.

But I just put it in the back of my mind and ignored that doubt. I honestly thought I was just finding excuses for my inability to lose weight.

As the years went on, I got married and had kids, which took their toll on my body. At the age of 43, I was not only getting close to being obese, but I was also struggling with constant fatigue, shortness of breath, hair loss. I thought to myself “There has to be something that causes this. This couldn’t be normal”.

I decided to go have a check at the doctor’s office to see if there was something stopping me from losing weight.

After hundreds of tests, my doubts were confirmed.

The doctor diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. It’s a condition where the thyroid gland doesn’t secrete enough hormones, causing symptoms such as weight gain and fatigue.

He further explained that it’s a major factor in many heart conditions, high cholesterol, and depression, which explained a lot.

I made a comment on how clear it was why all the weight piled up, but then the doctor said that although my hypothyroidism can influence my weight, it wasn’t the cause of me being overweight. In fact, he said that some of my symptoms might not even be caused by the hypothyroidism, but my weight.

The two had many similar symptoms, so getting the right diagnosis of what’s causing what problems can be tricky for doctors.

I got out of the doctor’s office full of new diagnosis and problems, and no clear cure for any of them.

The only thing the doctor said I could do is to manage my condition through a healthy lifestyle, something I wasn’t really good at (obviously).

When I got home, I immediately went to the bedroom and asked to be left alone for a while. I needed time to cry my pain away and rethink my life.

My husband Dave later came in and told me that my kids were asking what’s wrong, and is their mommy going to be okay.

Look at what I did. Not only did I ruin my body, but I even made my innocent children worried. That was the moment I made a decision to change my life.

I apologized to Dave and promised myself that I will become better than what I was then, for myself, for him, and most importantly, for my children.

They deserved to have a mother that could commit 100% to their lives and make them better, not make them stressed and worried.

So, immediately jumped to the Internet and looked for a diet that could help me. A healthy diet that I could handle with my busy mom life.

I came across a diet that looked ideal for my needs and what I was looking for.

It was called The Fat Decimator, a diet that combines dieting tips and workout plans to enable the person to lead a healthy lifestyle and lose weight in a healthy way.

On the first look, it seemed really interesting, so I continued reading about it.

Who’s the person behind The Fat Decimator Diet?

The person who made this diet is named Kyle Cooper, a former marine and now a certified trainer.

I was really touched with the story of how he came up with this diet.

His job in the marine was actually training soldiers, and due to being overweight, one of his team members accidentally got killed.

When he was recovering from this trauma, Kyle met a person named Sam Park, a Korean guy that was a member of the UN forces.

Sam explained to him that due to metabolic acidosis, a condition that causes acidic buildup in the body, people over the age of 30 struggle with losing weight.

Sam gave Kyle a list of herbs that help prevent this and melt fat, and they both decided to share what it with everyone.

What is The Fat Decimator?

The Fat Decimator is a digital program comprising of 4 sections: diet, workout plan, supplements, and motivation & mindset.

By reading reviews, I found out that it focused on getting the balance between your body’s nutrients: vitamins, fats, and carbs.

There were so many testimonials and success stories of people that were weighing even more than me when they started and now they all looked healthy and happy.

Just like I wanted to be one day.

What’s included in the program

At a price of only $57, it was a true bargain to buy the program.

Personally, I like digital diets and programs more than hard copy books, because I can put digital content in my gadget and take it everywhere.

So, I ordered it, and this is what I got:

Diet

By focusing on the important nutrients, Kyle gives advice on which foods are good for the body, and which ones are not. In the videos, Kyle explains why you should eat 5-6 meals a day, what to include in the meals and how everything you eat impacts your body.

Snacks and different smoothie recommendations are also included, which helped me feel full throughout the dieting.

Workout plan

In the workout plan, I got to choose whether I wanted to go to the gym or do a home workout routine.

Of course, I chose to do them at home because I have young children I can’t leave, and honestly, I was feeling subconscious about going to the gym with my weight.

Supplements

The third part was a very interesting one that reviewed the famous supplements that are sold around us.

It had a bunch of useful information I could use because not all of the supplements in the diet were selling near me, so I knew what I could use as a substitute.

Motivation&Mindset

Honestly, this is what got me through the diet.

You can’t do a major change in your life without the proper motivation and getting yourself in the right state of mind.

With these motivational guidelines, you will be able to follow the rules with easy and maximize your results.

4 bonuses

I got lucky to get a discount for purchasing the bonuses, which included the following:

The Fastest Weight Loss Week Action Plan – a plan with tips and tricks on how to speed up the process and maximize results

100 Great Tasting Green Smoothie Fat-Loss Recipes – a tasty set of smoothie recipes to help you deal with cravings and complement your diet.

I wasn’t a fan of smoothies prior to this, but now they are a regular, tasty habit in my life.

Powerful Sex Food and Stimulants – I think don’t need to explain this one.

The 3-Minute Belly Shrinker Video Series – These videos show a few short exercises you can do anytime and anywhere.

I was struggling to do them at first, but by the end of the second week, I got very used to them and even started enjoying!

My experience with The Fat Decimator

My journey was full of new experiences and unknown factors. I didn’t know what to expect, and honestly, I didn’t even believe I could do it.

But luckily, my husband was there to support me every step of the way, and I had my children for additional motivation, so once I got into it, I never looked back.

Week 1 – The first week was all about changes. I had to forget every food in my fridge and everything I was used to cooking and replace it with ingredients needed to cook the healthy recipes from the program.

Since I’m a stay at home mom, it wasn’t difficult to cook the meals at all, and honestly, they were pretty tasty if you’re asking me.

I thought I’d feel hungry often, but thanks to the smoothies and snacks, I managed to control my hunger and experience less cravings through the day.

I also had to shift my schedule and include a daily workout routine.

Doing the exercises was a bit of a struggle the first week, so if I’m being totally honest, I managed to do them only 2 times. After all, I was overweight which made me get tired faster than others and my muscles got inflamed to the point I couldn’t move the next day.

So, I decided to take it slow in the start and do as much as my body allowed me.

At the end of week 1, I weighed in and had lost a surprising 4 pounds!

This was result of eliminating the unnecessary junks of my body, which motivated me to continue with the program.

I immediately felt the benefits of eliminating all that junk food: I had more energy throughout the day and didn’t feel as bloated as before.

Week 2 – As the days went on, I introduced new things from the program in my life.

I used the detox plans, did more of the workout routines and bought a few supplements I could use.

In week 2, I noticed I could do the exercises easier than before and not feel as tired while doing them. And thanks to the detox, my metabolism started functioning properly which meant more timed and regular bathroom visits.

Week 2 ended with me losing 3 pounds, which was a result of more frequent exercises and a cleaner body.

Week 3– throughout week 3, I continued experiencing the benefits with an even greater impact on my life.

I now began to enjoy the workouts and didn’t even get tired when I was doing them.

At week 3, I started experiencing with the bonuses and used a few tips and tricks from them to increase my results. In this final week, I lost 3 pounds again.

After week 3 – After losing the first 10 pounds, the benefits just kept on increasing as time went on.

What once was a diet plan now was becoming a lifestyle for me.

Because the meals were so healthy and tasty, I started cooking them for my whole family, so we can all enjoy tasty and healthy meals.

I constantly repeated the routines, so it wasn’t even a scheduled thing, it just became a habit, a lifestyle. And, not only did I do the workout routines, but I also started going hiking or walking with the kids.

The benefits of The Fat Decimator Diet

Here is the big news. I’ve lost a shocking 47 pounds in just 4 months! If someone had told me that I would do it a year ago, I would honestly laugh in their face and call them crazy.

But I really did it. And I didn’t even pay a lot of money for expensive programs or personal trainers, all I did was follow this simple digital program I bought for less than a mall trip.

Everyone that saw me dropped their jaw. No one couldn’t believe how much weight I’ve lost.

The benefits I’m experiencing losing the weight are countless.

My overall health state has improved in the past few months, so I don’t feel so scared about my health and well-being anymore.

I have more energy for sports activities with my children, so I’m able to go for walks in the park or hiking in the mountains.

Previously, I was feeling ashamed to even go out of the house, let alone hike.

Even if I did try to do it, I got tired so easily and started hyperventilating after only a few minutes. But now, I regularly visit the mountains and canyons with Dave and the kids during the weekends.

And besides the weight-loss, I’ve experienced other physical benefits as well.

My skin is looking better than ever, which makes me look younger and prettier. This additionally brought back my confidence and increased my libido, so Dave and I spend a little more time in the bedroom than before.

I feel better overall, that’s all I can say.

The only downside I could say is that it’s not suitable for people younger than 30, since it was designed to address weightloss problems for people above 30 so it might not work as good for younger people.

If you’re in your twenties, I’d suggest you try out some other diet.

Conclusion: Very Satisfied With The Fat Decimator System

This diet was all about loss and gain. A lot of loss and a lot of gains.

What I lost was weight, but what I gained was a life change.

My healthy habits are now my family’s healthy habits and now we get to enjoy our time together and live to the fullest.

I couldn’t be more grateful to Kyle and this diet for allowing me to do that.

With a little effort, you too can do it. You just need to be determined and dedicated, and your success is guaranteed.

POST-REVIEW UPDATE: The doctor was right, again. After getting the regular 6-month check-up, many of the symptoms disappeared, which proved that they were really caused by my weight, not the hypothyroidism.

My blood results were better, my breathing had improved, and my BMI indicators were far better than a few months back.

How to Make Your Own Turmeric Supplement – EASY Recipe!

this is an image of diy turmeric supplement

Do you think that the effectiveness of turmeric, especially its main component curcumin, has not been studied sufficiently?

Think again.

Because not one, ten, or even a hundred but more than 7,000 studies have scrutinized how effective turmeric, as well as curcumin, is.

Innumerable health experts have hailed turmeric for its strong anti-inflammatory benefits.

I personally believe if there’s one herb which can relieve acute inflammation and also provide long-term maintenance benefits, it is turmeric.

Everyone and I mean everyone, should add this herb to their wellness arsenal.

How can that be done? Glad you asked.

Here’s an easy and effective way.

DIY Turmeric Supplement

Many people add turmeric to both veggie soups and curries, including me. Having turmeric this way provides some health benefits but not enough to fight inflammation.

So what I used to do when I had acute inflammation was add 2 tablespoons of it in half a cup of water and quaff it down at one go.

Turmeric, as you might know, has a very bitter taste.

But not anymore.

Instead of gagging a turmeric solution, now I use these turmeric bombs. They give you all the health benefits of this amazing herb without that powerfully bitter taste.

What’s more, these pills have a couple of special ingredients, which enhance turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties.

I was introduced to this whole turmeric-honey pills concept by a friend, who’s a talented herbalist and an experienced nutritional therapist.

Tips for Making Turmeric More Effective

Anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric come from its main component—curcumin. The amazing thing about this ingredient is that certain other components can increase its bioavailability.

To make Turmeric Bombs even more effective, I’ve added these ingredients to it.

  • Quercetin – blocks an enzyme that makes curcumin less effective
  • Black pepper – has a strong alkaloid piperine, a compound that increases curcumin bioavailability by as much as 150%
  • Fatty acids – increases turmeric bioavailability

Turmeric Bombs In Two Variations

One turmeric pill is made with honey and the other one with ghee or coconut oil.

As you can guess, swallowing honey variation is considerably easier and so they are more suited to children.

Honey effectively masks the strong bitter taste that turmeric has. My recommendation is that you start with honey variation.

The other option, ghee/coconut variation, includes fatty acids, which make curcumin more absorbable, and is free of sugar.

But these pills are a little harder to swallow compared to honey variation.

This is because they have a rougher shape because they flatten out slightly on baking sheet.

Additionally, they leave behind a slight taste when you swallow them.

Curcumin, the active compound of turmeric, has been studied by many researchers for its strong anti-inflammatory effects.

As said above, these DIY supplements also have black pepper and quercetin, both of which have been shown to enhance curcumin bioavailability.

Instructions

  1. Take a baking sheet and line it with unbleached parchment paper. Ensure your freezer has enough room for this cookie sheet.
  2. Turmeric powder can stain clothing, so wear a kitchen apron!
  3. Choose either of the above-mentioned binding agents. You require about 3 tablespoons. In case you opt for raw honey, melt it before using if it’s thick. This will make it pourable. You should treat ghee or coconut oil likewise.
  4. Stir turmeric with pepper, binding agent, and quercetin in a normal-sized bowl. With honey, you’ll get a pliable mixture. With oil, a relatively thick mixture, from which you can make pills.
  5. You will need “dough” in very small amounts when you use the honey variation. Roll dough and the mixture between the palms and place it on your baking sheet. On the other hand, in case of oil variation, scoop small pill shapes on your baking sheet using a spoon.
  6. Freeze them until they are firm. Next, transfer them to the storage container. Finally, put the container in your freezer.
  7. You should the turmeric pills as required. There’ no such thing as overdosing on turmeric bombs. That said, you may have an upset stomach if you take one too many oil-based turmeric pills. Taking too many of honey-based turmeric bombs is also not recommended because they contain sugar (even though it is unrefined).

If you don’t like getting your hands dirty, check out my review on this Turmeric supplement which has helped me relieve my chronic pain.
