YogaDownload Review – Here’s What I Really Think!

I’m sure many of you have had a situation where you’ve paid any type of membership and didn’t go to more than 2 or 3 classes.

Well, I experienced that a lot, and not because I was irresponsible, but it was just how it turned out. Really.

Here’s what happened…

I’ve always been an active person that leads a healthy life. I always tend to buy organic food, I love to cook, I walk my dog every day and most important for this review – I visit yoga classes 3 times a week.

Well, actually, I’m supposed to say those things in past sentence. I did all those things before.

Once I got accepted at my job as a financial advisor, everything in my life seemed to start taking a wrong turn. My job included traveling very often, sometimes for weeks at a time, which meant I couldn’t visit the yoga classes I did until then.

Plus, I was staying at hotels, so I couldn’t cook for myself, nor buy my healthy groceries anymore. I was home for the weekends, but what was I supposed to do first – see my family, friends and my dog, rest for the upcoming week, do exercise, shop, rest, date, go out…WHAT?

My life was in total chaos. I looked so composed and professional on the outside, but inside me was an emotional and psychological chaos.

Quitting was not an option for me, because I worked so hard to get to that position, but the change in lifestyle was so much to take in, that I was in utter chaos, trust me.

This resulted in me feeling tired and agitated all the time. I desperately wanted to find a way to balance everything, but I just didn’t have the time. Yoga helped me release my body of the negative energy and be positive, so when that was taken away from me, I didn’t know how to cope with all the stress.

I stopped buying organic food and cooking since I didn’t have the time to prepare it anyway, so my weight started to go up. Now I was faced with another problem in my life. I didn’t consider myself fat by any means, but my body wasn’t what it was before…it didn’t look as it did before.

I thought that my weight was going to be the biggest issue I’d have to deal with. I was so wrong. I started experiencing episodes of pain in my lower back. Actually, they first started as small stiffness in my back, which I ignored, but then gradually started increasing to the point I had to take painkillers to stop them for a while.

I kept postponing going to the doctor, thinking it would go away on itself which obviously didn’t happen. I found myself consuming painkillers daily and when my mother saw me doing it, she immediately scheduled an appointment with my physician.

He did a scan of my back which showed I had developed spondylosis. My whole lower back was inflamed, which was why I experienced stiffness and back pain.

When we were discussing the treatment of my condition, I mentioned I used to do yoga and he told me that that was one of the best things I could do to help cure my spondylosis. So, I knew I had to go back to it, but I just had to find a way I could do it.

I started thinking about doing yoga for the weekends only since I was certainly home then, but that turned out impossible, then I tried looking for a yoga company that holds classes in multiple states that would allow me to pay a monthly membership…but that also wasn’t a viable option.

Then, because of my searches, I saw an ad about a website called YogaDownload. Unconsciously, I opened it and found the thing that saved me. It was a website with online yoga classes by professionals, which meant I could do yoga wherever I wanted.

The fact that I was on the road often didn’t matter, all I needed was my yoga mat and a gadget where I could play the videos, and I was good to go! The thought of being able to go back to having my healthy lifestyle, while still keeping my career was a shot I could not miss.

So, I started reading as much as I could about it, and once I ordered it, everything started happening at once. This whole experience was so amazing I just had to share it with you. Following is everything you need to know about Yogadownload and how it helped me.


What is YogaDownload?

Yogadownload is a widely popular online service that allows you to view 1,000 online yoga classes through their website in exchange for a membership fee.

Depending on the program you buy from them, you can also download the videos and watch them on PC, laptop, tablet, phone or whatever gadget you own.

This was a huge plus for me since I always prefer sitting on my iPad rather than the laptop or PC (but don’t we all?).

So, this meant that I probably could do yoga whenever and wherever I wanted. Like, I wouldn’t have to go out in the cold. Nor in the hot. I could just decide I wanted to do yoga NOW, and do it. Quite appealing, isn’t it?

Needless to say, with the busy schedule I had, this was perfect for me.


The Creator of YogaDownload

Anyone who has visited yoga classes even a few times will know that not everyone can be a yoga master or teach yoga. This is why I wanted to find out who designed this website and who came up with all the classes on it. I wanted to be sure that I wouldn’t just waste my time and effort for nothing.

So, I went on their website and found that it said “Founded by people who love yoga, love music, and experience life as an extension of their practice, Yoga Download is yoga for the way you really live” which was even better than what I expected. It wasn’t made by one person that wanted to make profits out of something, but from a group of people that look at yoga as a way of life, and want to share that lifestyle with others.


How Does YogaDownload Work

The basic principle of the website is the same as any other membership website. You need to sign in, choose the type of access you’d like, the level of yoga experience you have, and you’re good to go.

So, when I went to sign in to the website, I first had to choose which type of access I’d get. I knew that yoga classes were over $50 a month, so I made the decision not to pay a price over that. And let me tell you people, I was shocked at how cheap the programs were. There were 2 offers I could choose:

  • Premier which offered unlimited video streaming, 4 class downloads for free every month and 50% discount on programs and packages for $10 a month.
  • Elite which offered unlimited video streaming, unlimited free video downloads every month and free programs and packages for $18 a month.

These programs were also available to get for multiple months at a discounted price.

  • 3 months Premier for $24
  • 6 months Premier for $45
  • Yearly Elite for $90

I personally decided to go for the Elite program, the monthly one because it was the one that offered the biggest access to thing for an affordable price. And I wanted to try it out first before getting the long-term version of it.


What’s Included in The Program

When I got my access, there were a few more choices I had to make. The next thing I had to choose was the program I was going to follow and there were 4 levels offered:

Level 1 – Beginner – designed for people with minimal or no experience in yoga, but want to start practicing it. It has all the basics explained before starting so anyone can understand how to do yoga properly before starting.

Level 2 – Experienced Beginner – yoga level for those who have a little bit of knowledge about yoga, but want to learn more about it through yoga classes.

Level 3 – Intermediate – classes for those who’ve probably visited a few yoga classes and know the basics of yoga, breathing, and movements.

Level 4 – Advanced-Intermediate – for those who are experienced in yoga and want to perform advanced poses.

Because I had a background knowledge of yoga as I mentioned previously, I decided to go for the Intermediate program. It’s really important to choose the right program for you, since all the videos are made according to the level of knowledge you select.

There was one more thing I chose, but this was a decision I was making every time I decided to exercise. It was the level of intensity the classes were going to be. They were specifically made for every program, so it didn’t matter which level I was on, I could always go for the type of exercise I wanted. As of now, I’ve tested each intensity and this was my experience with each one:

Ahhhhhh – Lowest Intensity – Whenever I just wanted to relax and let go of the negativity in my life, I’d go for the lowest intensity class. After each session, I felt relaxed and more balanced, as if all the negative tension from my body suddenly disappeared. I recommend this class for anyone that as a stressful life and needs to relax.

Everyday Namaste – Low Intensity –In the beginning, the everyday Namaste exercises were a bit challenging to do, since I was really out of shape, but once I got back in it, they were a great stretching or warming up for the daily routines.

You’ll Feel It – Medium Intensity – I call these classes a nice sweat session that I enjoy. I must say they are personally my favorite because they combine everything I need – strengthening of the muscles, stretching, sweating off extra weight and releasing myself from the negativity inside me.

Bring A Towel – High Intensity – whenever I had enough time and I wasn’t exhausted, this was my go-to class. It’s designed to make you sweat like crazy, so I’d recommend you go for this one last.

There are hundreds of yoga styles included in the program, so never, not even for a second did I feel bored of exercising.

The list of yoga styles includes: Align and Flow, Anusara Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Baptiste Power Yoga, Beginner Yoga, Barre, Bhakti Yoga, Films & Documentaries, Forrest Yoga, Fusion Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Hot Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Jivamukti Yoga, Kid’s Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Meditation, Pilates, Power Yoga, Prana Flow Vinyasa, Pranayama, Prenatal Yoga, Postnatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga With Weights, and Yoga en Español.


The Pros and Cons of Using YogaDownload

I personally LOVE the program. There are so many things I can do thanks to it, that I wouldn’t be able to do with other programs.

It’s convenient – unlike yoga classes, I can practice at the comfort of my own home, in the hotels during my travels or any other place I wanted.

Personalized training – whether you want just a quick stretch or a nice sweating, you can always choose how much and how long you will exercise for. There were also countless styles to choose from, so I haven’t managed to try out even half of them.

Affordable exercise – Yoga classes can cost up to $100 a month, while YogaDownload is $90 PER YEAR. I think I don’t even need to explain this further.

24/7 access – yoga classes are in a pre-arranged time and at a pre-arranged place, which means that if you’re busy, you’d miss the session and your money. With Yogadownload, all the videos are there, in your device (in my case my phone), so you can do yoga the minute you want to.

Professional service – The people working on the website are true professionals. I can’t even begin to explain how unified every class is. It has the perfect ambient, perfect accompanying music and wonderful yoga teachers from all over the world. I really appreciated all the attention put into all of it.

Χ No direct contact – This is one of the few things that I didn’t like. Whenever I was unable to do a pose or had some question about a technique, I didn’t have anyone to ask, which bothered me a bit. It’s always better to have someone motivate you throughout the class and give you advice.

The benefits of using Yogadownload

Ah, I can’t even begin to thank this website enough because it has done so much for me. I’m able to do what I’ve always wanted to do – practice yoga regularly without having to sacrifice an important aspect of my life.

I’ve always been one of those people that kinda wants to lead a healthy lifestyle, but kinda loves her snacks and pizza too. When I was younger, I tried leading a healthy lifestyle, but snacks and fast foods always got the better of me.

To be honest with you, I love fries, pizza, chips and every other snack so much that they often replaced my meals. And I won’t look for excuses, it wasn’t because I didn’t have the time to cook healthy meals.

While I didn’t put much weight on, I began to see the results of my unhealthy way of eating. I started getting tons of cellulite, stretch marks and loose skin all over my body. Because my skin was looking dim and gloomy, I looked older than my age, so I started dressing like a middle-aged woman to cover the loose skin on my arms and the cellulite on my legs.

And I certainly didn’t feel middle aged! But the reality was such…I really looked like that.

I’m a very self-conscious woman and this really started to bother me. I was analyzing my body in the mirror every day to the point that I lose every confidence in it.
